2025 GCE 'A' Level Results
Congratulations to the Class of 2025! Our students have continued to do well! As RV celebrates 70 years of excellence this year, we are reminded that our legacy extends far beyond academic achievements to encompass the holistic development of every student. Today, we celebrate their all-round achievements; their success reflects not only their dedication to learning but also their personal growth to become leaders of distinction. We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to the School Leaders, staff members, School Advisory Committee, Alumni, Parent-Teacher Association, and the families who have supported our graduates throughout their journey.
As our graduates embark on their next chapter, they are poised to shape their own destinies while inspiring their juniors and creating meaningful legacies. Many have already begun this journey through their remarkable contributions to our school and the wider community, demonstrating the impact they can make when they apply their talents, skills, and values to serve others. We are proud to highlight some of these outstanding graduates.
Teo Shen Han (24J02)
Shen Han's passion for wildlife conservation led him to explore sustainable
food solutions through the MOE Science Mentorship Programme. He helped
researchers at the Singapore University of Technology and Design develop
3D-printed food products with cricket powder as a sustainable alternative,
which later won him first prize at the Shanghai International Youth Science
and Technology Camp.
Beyond the classroom, Shen Han independently secured research opportunities at the National University of Singapore. With guidance from Associate Professor Ryan Chisholm, he conducted literature reviews on endangered bird species during JC1 GAP Month. After this stint, he worked under Associate Professor Frank Rheindt, where he proposed a novel colourimetric method to study avian taxonomy until the end of JC2. His comprehensive report earned first authorship in an article published in Avian Research, a Gold Award at the Singapore Science and Engineering Fair, and selection as one of six projects representing Singapore at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Ohio, USA. He also volunteered with the Worldwide Fund for Nature, contributing to butterfly counts and habitat impact studies, reflecting his commitment to conservation.
Hayley Ng (24J07)
A finalist in the People of Good (Student) category at the President's
Volunteerism & Philanthropy Awards 2025 and as Vice-President of the
school's Service and Citizenship Society, Hayley has made significant contributions
to the community, having organised meaningful events for children with
special needs and weekly volunteer activities at senior homes. Being an
active grassroots leader, member of the People's Association Youth Movement,
and leader of the Animal Welfare Cluster in the Boon Lay Youth Network,
Hayley champions responsible pet ownership by organising monthly learning
journeys for children and leading efforts in reducing pet abandonment and
abuse through the Catwalk programme, connecting community cat feeders and
owners with relevant agencies for support.
As Vice-Chairperson of the Boon Lay Countdown in 2024, Hayley collaborated
with community partners to put together a successful event. Leading the
Stage and Media Committee, her digital design expertise was instrumental
in creating engaging social media content, resulting in a large turnout
at the event. Her strong leadership and dedication to community service
is an example of a Leader of Distinction who is purposeful and does good.
Dilys Lim Yi Ling (24J06)
Dilys leads with humility and is deeply committed to building a positive
school culture. She has held multiple leadership roles, including President
of the 45th High School Students’ Council, Vice Chairperson for Secondary
One Orientation, Logistics Head for Graduation Day 2023, Logistics Deputy
Secretary-General for RVMUN 2025, and Peer Support Leader (PSL) for her
class. As Chairperson of PSL (JC) Exco, she spearheaded initiatives such
as Self-Care Month and Kindness Month to enhance student well-being. By
sharing well-being messages at morning assemblies and coming up with creative
activities like writing notes of appreciation and self-care Bingo, the
JC students got to experience how it felt to give and receive kind words
or deeds and learnt to prioritise self-care.
Beyond school, Dilys served as Liaison Head at Cancer Kids First Singapore,
managing sponsorship funds and curating meaningful experiences for beneficiaries.
Her compassion was further demonstrated through her volunteer work
at St Luke's Hospital, where she spent time conversing with seniors and
tailored games to their preferences. These experiences raised her awareness
of others' needs
Javelle Toh (24J18)
Demonstrating exceptional leadership and commitment to service, Javelle
Toh received the 2023 President's Guide Award. She played a pivotal role
as Head of the Activities Committee for the 2025 World Thinking Day Celebrations,
a large-scale national event hosted by Girl Guides Singapore that involved
over 5,000 participants from Singapore and abroad. In this capacity, she
spearheaded the planning and execution of a Singapore record-breaking initiative,
"Largest Banner Covered in Fabric Pieces with Handwritten Notes". Equally
committed to service, Javelle led the Boon Lay Residents' Network initiative,
Hearts & Homes, where she forged strong bonds with elderly residents
during weekly visits over eight months. She also helped Xingnan Primary
School’s lower primary students with emerging reading skills to foster
a passion for reading.
Beyond her leadership, Javelle's analytical abilities were evident when she co-authored a research paper for the 2024 Bicultural Studies Programme Symposium. Her team’s research on examining differing perspectives of Singaporean and Chinese teenagers towards entrepreneurship earned the title of "Outstanding Research Paper". Overall, Javelle is a multifaceted individual whose leadership and commitment to excellence distinguish her as a role model.
Matthew Tay Tze Kiat (24J17)
As a President's Scout Award recipient, Matthew Tay exemplifies resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to service. From 2024 to 2025, he was the President of the school's Venture CCA where he created an inclusive environment and demonstrated strategic thinking and adaptability in managing CCA events. As part of the President's Scout Award, he completed his Pioneering Exploration Assessment, trekking more than 60 km over two days. Beyond demonstrating physical endurance and technical competence, he led his team to stay coordinated and motivated despite harsh conditions.
Matthew’s leadership qualities shone when he initiated and led in collaboration with SG Cares – Thye Hua Kuan Moral Charities. As Chairperson, Matthew coordinated two large-scale community outings for over 50 elderly participants and led a team of 30 student volunteers. He worked closely with community partners to plan meaningful activities that addressed social isolation among seniors, ensuring that logistical, safety, and engagement needs were met. Through clear communication, careful planning, and strong leadership, he fostered genuine connections between students and the elderly, reflecting his belief that service should be driven by empathy and respect.
Chang Wan Xuan (24J04)
Chang Wan Xuan is a thoughtful and driven student leader who exemplifies
resilience and empathy. As the President of the Students’ Council from
2024 to 2025, she fostered an inclusive environment through Town Halls
and council meetings. Collaborating with peers to revitalise house culture,
she played a key role in establishing a new House Committee and successfully
organised multiple house events over two years, including a sports carnival,
thereby strengthening school spirit. Wan Xuan spearheaded the Leaders Summit
2024, where she curated meaningful dialogues for over 100 CCA leaders.
She also initiated council exchanges with two other junior colleges, resulting
in the adoption of best practices and stronger inter-school networks.
Wan Xuan’s strong commitment to service was evident as she dedicated her
Saturday mornings to tutoring less privileged children through the "Homework
Help" initiative, leading floorball sessions for children, taking them
on science field trips, and volunteering with the National Kidney Foundation
where she engaged with dialysis patients. Her ability to balance leadership
responsibilities with community service and academics reflects her steadfast
dedication to everything she undertakes.
Chin Xiao Rou (24J08)
Chin Xiao Rou is a forward-thinking leader who demonstrated a strong global
outlook and bicultural acumen. In her diverse roles as President of the
Chinese Debate Club, Vice President of the Multimedia Club, and Student
Councillor, she excelled in fostering intellectual discourse in debate,
training students in multimedia, and representing student interests. As
a Bicultural Studies Programme Scholar and Vice President of the Bicultural
Leaders Academy, Xiao Rou actively promoted cross-cultural understanding
and engagement. She played a key role in initiatives that encouraged discourse
on China's evolving role in the world and its implications for Singapore.
Her deep understanding of cultural dynamics and international affairs,
combined with a breadth of leadership experience, enabled her to navigate
diverse perspectives with sensitivity and insight.
Beyond school, Xiao Rou was deeply committed to community service and
social impact. She distributed food to lower income families, provided
photography support for NGOs, and contributed to national celebrations
like Chingay. These experiences reflect her belief in using her skills
and platform to serve others.
Yang Lin Xuan (24J15)
As President of the Chinese Orchestra, Yang Lin Xuan led with heart, purpose,
and creativity. Playing the Dizi, she served a month-long internship with
TENG Company, where she deepened her understanding of arts management and
community engagement while creating original content for their social media
platforms. Her impressive videos amassed more than 500,000 views across
TikTok and Instagram, with her most viral video reaching 95,000 views.
Based on merit and her outstanding audition performance, she was awarded
the prestigious MapleTree-TENG Scholarship for her contributions. Using
her musical talents to serve the community, Lin Xuan spearheaded Values-In-Action
initiatives such as performances and engagement sessions with seniors at
the NTUC Health Active Ageing Centre.
Beyond her musical excellence, Lin Xuan's diverse interests include scientific
research. She applied her knowledge to solve global challenges, representing
the school at the International Space Challenge 2023, where her team clinched
first place with a groundbreaking proposal on sustainable lunar resource
utilisation. Her willingness to engage with unfamiliar content and persevere
through intellectual obstacles underscores her adaptability, grit, and
commitment to personal growth.
Lim Zi Fu (24J08)
Lim Zi Fu’s leadership journey began as the Wushu Captain in 2021. Through
perseverance and active participation in leadership programmes such as
the Leadership Development Camp and the Mentor Committee, he grew in self-confidence
and honed his interpersonal and communication skills which enabled him
to foster strong team cohesion. Motivated by his desire for growth, he
sought opportunities to take on greater responsibilities, serving as House
Captain of the 46th Junior College Student Council and Chairperson of Prom
2024. In these roles, he demonstrated strong organisational skills and
adaptability. As House Captain, he played a pioneering role in establishing
the school’s first House Committee and launching the inaugural House League
Season.
Committed to serving the community, Zi Fu volunteered as a befriender with the National Kidney Foundation, offering emotional support to dialysis patients. Through empathy and dedication, he brought comfort to those in need. Zi Fu is a grounded and compassionate leader who adopted a people-centric approach that promoted trust, collaboration, and leadership development.
Srinivasan Nitin (24J08)
Driven by curiosity and a desire to make a positive impact, Nitin sought
opportunities to deepen his knowledge and develop innovative solutions.
A recipient of the Engineering and Technology Programme Scholarship (ETPS),
Nitin participated in the ETPS signature STEM workshop where he explored
robotics and its applications in healthcare and transportation. He further
broadened his exposure through an internship with the Singapore Semiconductor
Industry Association, gaining valuable insights into semiconductor technologies
and their real-world applications.
Nitin demonstrated strong leadership when he led as a facilitator during STEM Fest 2024, Committee Head for Administration and Logistics for 2025 Junior College Orientation, and member of the House Committee. He was actively involved in Capture-The-Flag (CTF) and Math Leaders Academy (MLA). Through CTF, he learnt about cybersecurity and served the community by teaching children with learning disabilities basic Python programming. As a leader of MLA, he organised an R programming workshop and designed learning materials for his juniors. These experiences reflect Nitin's deep love for science, mathematics, and technology, and his commitment to putting his knowledge to good use in service of others.
Lee Hsiang (24J19)
As Chair of the inaugural Reve Carnival, Lee Hsiang coordinated the planning
and execution across multiple stakeholders, demonstrating his organisational
acumen and initiative. Under his leadership, this large-scale event successfully
raised $11,294 for Community Chest. His people-centric approach to leadership
is also evident in his role as Welfare Head for the River Valley Photography
Club where he organised bonding activities that strengthened camaraderie.
Passionate about photography, he devoted nearly 100 service hours in a
year to providing photography support.
Lee Hsiang’s dedication to serving others is further exemplified through
his involvement as a Warrant Officer in St John Brigade Singapore. Having
received the Chief Commissioner Badge, he served as Parade Regiment Sergeant
Major for the 2023 National Observance Ceremony. He also played an instrumental
role in three iterations of the Southwest District Non-Commissioned Officer
Camp, twice as an assistant course instructor and once as a course instructor.
In these capacities, he led platoons, mentored future leaders, and honed
his instructional capabilities. These experiences deepened his own understanding
of leadership while enabling him to shape and inspire younger cadets.
