Principal’s Message

Welcome to River Valley High School!

We are happy to welcome all our students back to school and our Secondary 1 students who are joining us in 2025. It is going to be an exciting year of learning and growth for all!

River Valley High School (RVHS) will be celebrating our 69^th School Anniversary in 2025. The theme of RV69 is “春风化雨，睿智飞扬” (To bloom and soar). It embodies our aspiration for our students to bloom and soar to greater heights in RVHS. As our students embark on a personal journey of discovery of their strengths, aptitudes and interests, they will develop a positive sense of self and realise their potential.

Our robust IP curriculum fosters the spirit of inquiry, innovation and critical thinking. Our signature programmes, co-curricular activities and enrichment programmes also provide age-appropriate and authentic learning experiences across the levels. Through the robust RV learning experiences of exploration, growth and discovery, our students develop into thinkers, leaders and achievers with good character, bicultural acumen and global perspectives.

As an SAP school, our unique bicultural learning environment provides our students with the fluency and skills to understand, appreciate and navigate different cultural contexts, and develop regional and global perspectives. Our students discuss current affairs and contemporary issues in class and engage in dialogues with a diverse range of knowledgeable speakers. There are also opportunities for our students to engage with students from overseas throughout the year, either through hosting visiting schools or participating in overseas learning journeys. They hone and develop dispositions, attributes and sensitivities to be able to stay effective and relevant in a globalised and multi-cultural world.

We believe strongly that our students have the capacity and potential for leadership and through our various student development opportunities, our students develop into leaders of distinction with integrity and honour, compassion and kindness, and the heart of service and desire to be positive change-makers.

Educating young minds is a collaborative effort. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to fostering a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. We also have very strong and supportive alumni, parents and partners who are aligned with our vision and mission and who work collaboratively with the school to achieve the desired student outcomes.

我们的综合课程（IP）培养了学生的探究精神、创新和批判性思维。学校的特色项目、课程辅助活动及丰富多样的课程体验，提供了适合各年龄段的学习机会。在探索、成长和发掘的过程中，同学们会逐步成长为具备优秀品格、双文化素养和全球视野的杰出人才。

作为一所特选学校（SAP），我校独特的双文化学习环境，帮助学生掌握不同文化背景下的语言与沟通技巧，培养他们理解和鉴赏不同文化的能力，拓宽学生的区域和全球视野。通过课堂上的讨论、接待来访学校、参与海外学习之旅以及与海外学生互动，这些宝贵的经验将为立化学生在未来全球化、多元文化的世界做好准备。
